Science: Compound Machines Extra Credit Project
This is due the Monday we get back to school, November 28.
Create a compound machine that does something.
I am not limiting or suggesting what you should do. Be creative. Have fun with it. Remember you can make higher than a 100 on this if it's awesome.
You don't have to go out and buy anything, it can be made from materials at your house. Don't wait until Sunday night to start on this. Your machine needs to work.
You also have to write a paper answering a few questions.
This is part of the grade so don't ignore this.
Do not number the questions and answer them. They show be answered within the paragraphs of your paper. The paper does not have to be very long, it just needs to answer the questions completely. You need complete sentences. I suggest you let someone else read it to help you edit.
Here are the questions
1. What is it and what does it do?
2. What simple machines is it made up of?
3. What did you make this machine? (I know you are doing the project for extra credit, but why make the machine you did. What made it seem like the best choice to you?)
Remember to think and plan first. Pick a machine you think will be cool. If you do your final product will be better.
This question was asked if this could count for a Math grade. If you can add a Math element to this, it may count toward a Math extra credit grade also. Don't just say you had to use Math.
If you have questions
I will be checking my email periodically, so if you have questions you can email me. I will respond as quickly as I check my email. My email in on the contact page.
